Don't Despair

Hi
Hope all is well today! I am going to try to lift your spirits just a bit today if you are having that difficult and annoying task of losing that last couple of pounds. You have done well so far and suddenly you find yourself getting depressedbecause of it. Well I think the best medecine for this is to run down to your favorite and most expensive department store and try on the whole rack of your size now that you have lost all of that weight. Whether you are going to buy or not , look at your self in the mirror and admire what you have accomplished and how great you look in each and every one. I will guarantee when you finished you will leave that store with anew sense of admiration for yourself!
Have Fun!
YOU CAN DO IT!

These restaurants need to lighten up

The reason I am writing this post is because of an incident which happened in a better than average restaurant. The restaurant is located in a resort type area which caters to children as well as adults. Our family is always conscience of our eating habits. The menu is this restaurant had entrees that were loaded with cheeses, sauces, bacon, and whatever else had 15 grams of fat per serving. My wife asked the waitress if she could have a burger from the childrens menu not because of the price but because of portion size. Oh no,you must order from the adult menu where the 11 oz. burger was $12.95. Okay, how about a small side salad? Oh no, you are going to have to order the regular size salad that is covered with cheese, bacon, croutons and whatever else they could find. That salad was $16.95.

Give me a break! Obviously we won't be back. But these restaurants are either going to have to start serving entrees that are more health conscience or become more accomodating.

What do you think?

Tip of the day

If you are planning on eating out make sure you are familiar with the menu. If necessary call the restaurant and ask about salads, grilled meats etc. Don't be afraid to ask how food is prepared, contents in sauces etc. When you arrive at the restaurant don't be afraid to ask for your food to be prepared in a way that you can still follow your diet. If you are attending a party and know that there isn't going to be food there that is diet friendly, take food that you can eat and discreetly add your food to your plate. It is easy to take yogurt, fresh fruit, raw veggies, fiber filled crackers etc. to a party. If your hostess is truly your friend she will not be offended,\.
One more important point ALWAYS have food that you can easily reach for at home that is low in fat and fiber filled, this will help to detour your impulse eating!!
